Boy Abunda reveals 3 difficult interviews he did that made him want to walk-out

Many people think that being put in the hot seat is the difficult part of an interview but veteran talk show host Boy Abunda shared that being an interviewer also has its fair share of struggles.

Throughout his career, Abunda has interviewed some of the biggest names in show business not just in the Philippines but also internationally.

But in an episode of his late night talk show “Tonight with Boy Abunda” which aired on Monday, he enumerated the top three interviews he did that made him uncomfortable as a showbiz reporter.

Speaking to comedian Vice Ganda, he said that some interviews made him want to walk out and leave his seat.

First on his list was the interview he did with Vhong Navarro after he was mauled inside a condominium unit in 2014.

Abunda said that seeing Navarro covered in bruises was emotionally difficult for him.

“It was not comfortable kasi si Vhong, pasa pasa, and it is not easy to interview pain,” Abunda said.

Next was his interview with KC Concepcion in 2011.

He said that Concepcion was supposed to reveal the details of her breakup with then-boyfriend Piolo Pascual.

However, Abunda said that Concepcion could not make up her mind if she will do the interview or not that it took them nearly 6 hours before they can shoot the interview.

“Dumating kami ni KC dito, halos sabay, 8 o’clock in the evening. Alas dos nangyari ‘yung interview dahil she couldn’t make up her mind whether she want to do the interview or not,” he shared.

Abunda then said that the last interview he can think of is that of Claudine Barretto after Rico Yan’s untimely death.

“Another difficult interview was with Claudine Barretto. Hindi ko makakalimutan. This was the time when pumanaw ang kaibigang Rico Yan. It was a difficult interview. Pagdating namin dito, hindi namin alam kung eere,” he said.
