LOOK: Vice Ganda wears 2 gowns both created by UAE-based designers during ABS-CBN Ball

Comedian Vice Ganda was among the 600 biggest and brightest personalities in the Philippine entertainment industry who gathered at the grand ABS-CBN Ball which was held on September 29 at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La.

During the event, Vice Ganda stepped on the red carpet wearing an outfit that got some netizens talking with some of them saying it was a bit “controversial”.

The comedian seemingly took some inspiration from the theme of the MET Gala 2018 and wore a black beaded gown by Paul Cabral which was paired with a sweeping cape by UAE-based designer, and 2015 TFT Rizal Awardee Michael Cinco.

The 20-foot-long cape featured hand-painted stained-glass-inspired details and colored Swarovski crystals and was part of Cinco’s 2015 Sainte-Chapelle Collection.

A similar outfit was once worn by international superstar Jennifer Lopez.

Vice Ganda also addressed the netizens who tagged his outfit as “blasphemous” by saying, “Wala akong kinakatakot dahil wala naman akong ginagawang masama.”

But what many people did not see was that Vice Ganda actually had a change of outfit during the Bantay Bata Program of the ABS-CBN Ball.

Beyond the grandeur of the event, the ABS-CBN Ball also aimed to support to a Bantay Bata 163 campaign to help abused, exploited, and neglected children in the Philippines.

For his second outfit, Vice Ganda wore another caped gown which bears ruffles, and intricate beading and embroidery.

The second gown was made by another UAE-based designer, 2015 TFT Fashion Designer of the Year Furne One.

Vice Ganda uploaded a photo of him wearing the gown on his Instagram account with the caption, “My unkabogable couture gown for the Bantay Bata program of the ABS-CBN Ball 2018 made by the fantastic @furneamato”.

Aside from Vice Ganda, other celebrities, including Barbie Imperial, Kim Chiu, James Reid, and Maymay Entrata, attended the said event while wearing jaw-dropping fashion pieces of some UAE-based designers.
