Dingdong Dantes says he will not run for senator to take care of pregnant wife

Kapuso actor took to social media to say that he will not be running for a political position, explaining that he would like to dedicate his time to take care of his pregnant wife Marian Rivera.

Dantes has already ended all speculations when he commented on one of Ogie Diaz’s Facebook posts wherein the actor’s alleged political aspirations was discussed.

In the comments section of the said post, Diaz wrote that he will be supporting Dantes in case he will run for senator. However, Dantes was quick to reply and said, ”Salamat sa tiwala, Ogie. Pero hindi po ako tatakbong senador”.

Dantes made this revelation only a week after Liberal Party (LP) released the list of their possible senatorial candidates wherein he was included.

But after over a week since then, he posted a more detailed statement on why he will not run this coming 2019 elections.

He said in his statement that becoming a public servant is something that one has to prepare for as it will be a big responsibility that will be placed on one’s shoulder.

He said that thought about it thoroughly but his wife’s pregnancy, which was announced just recently, has pushed his to put his political aspirations on hold in order fon him to have some time with his family.

“And in the process of my discernment, I received His response in the most surprising and beautiful way. With overflowing joy, Marian and I, are happy to share with everyone that we have been blessed with another child! Natupad na rin ang matagal ng dasal naming mag-asawa, lalung- lalo na ni Zia.

“At sa kabila ng buong suportang ibibigay sa akin ni Marian, ng buong pamilya, at mga kaibigan sa anumang magiging desisyon ko sa pagsabak sa pulitika, malinaw sa akin na sa panahong ito ay kailangan kong maging buo para sa aking pamilya.

“My discernment revealed what is truly important in my life— panahon ito para suportahan ang pagdadalang-tao ng aking asawa,” he said.
