Richard Somes, the director of the film, narrated during the movie’s press conference that Gonzales experienced having a barbed wire get wrapped around her neck and get electrocuted by a live wire during their shooting days.

Gonzales shared that she thought she was about to die when she got electrocuted while filming an elevator scene.

“Sabi ko, ‘Lord, ito na ba time ko? Akala ko ‘We Will Not Die Tonight’ ‘yong title? Lord, huwag muna. Marami pa akong gustong plano sa buhay’,” ABS-CBN quoted Gonzales as saying.

The director opted to remove the said scene from the film. However, Gonzales said that the day after she got electrocuted Somes told her that it was a pivotal scene that was why she decided to re-shoot it.

“We Will Not Die Tonight” is one of the entries to this year’s Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino which will start on August 15.

The said film premiered during the 17th New York Asian Film Festival.
