Did Barbie Imperial’s rumored ex-boyfriend physically abuse her?

Actress Barbie Imperial caught the attention of her social media followers after sharing a post about physical abuse.

Fans of the 19-year-old actress got worried after she posted a series of photos showing her bruised arms and chest.

“Girls, just because mahal mo ang isang tao pero sinasaktan kayo physically, hindi pwedeng patuloy yan. HINDI TAMA MANAKIT NG BABAE PHYSICALLY,” Imperial said in her now-deleted tweet.

Imperial also uploaded the photos on her Instagram account with the caption, “No to physical abuse. NEVER AGAIN”. She has since deleted the photos from her Instagram page.

After deleting the photos, she then uploaded a photo of her with her friends, Debs Garcia, Josef Elizalde, Marco Gumabao, Julia Barretto, and Patrick Sugui.

“Protectors,” she simply captioned the photo.

Imperial’s fans immediately sent her messages of encouragement and support on social media. Some of them even changed their profile pictures with a photo of Imperial with a banner saying, “Respect! No to physical abuse.”

Moreover, some of her fans speculated that her rumored ex-boyfriend, Paul Salas, might be the one who hurt her physically.

Meanwhile, GMA-7 actor Kristoffer Martin, who is a good friend of Salas, seemingly responded to Imperial’s physical abuse claims by saying that “there are always two sides of the story”.

He added, “There’s always two sides of the story. Mga naapektuhan, ‘wag pa-victim.”

“Wala ako sa lugar para i-elaborate yung nangyari. Iisang circle kami. Pero nasa lugar ako maglabas ng saloobin kasi may nadedehado. HINDI SINAKTAN. Ayan capslock para mapansin. Antayin niyo statement na lalabas. Tawanan ko kayo after,” Martin said.

However, his tweets did not sit well with some of Imperial’s fans who criticized him for “tolerating the actions of an abuser”.

Martin then deleted the tweets and replaced it with another one which reads, “The past is behind us. Good morning everyone. Positive vibes na.”
