Xian Gaza sentenced to 5 years in jail

Christian Albert Gaza, more popularly known as Xian Gaza, has been sentenced to five years in jail after the Malabon Metropolitan Trial Court found him guilty beyond reasonable doubt of violating Batas Pambansa (BP) 22 or the Anti-Bouncing Checks Law.

According to previous reports, the business man was sued by Jaime Asuncion and Melinda Cruz for allegedly duping them into lending him at least P3 million.

Gaza posted on Facebook a copy of the court document containing the decision which was signed by Judge Maya Joy Camposanto.

According to his post, Gaza will be spending five years and five months in jail.

He would also have to pay P2,180,000 representing the total value of the checks, plus other “legal interests and costs”.

Gaza also uploaded a black-and-white photo on Facebook with the caption, “Karma is real. What you do now will come back to you in the future. Life has a funny way of making you deal with what you make others go through. Babalik at babalik din sayo lahat kaya magbago ka na habang hindi pa huli ang lahat kagaya ko.”

In an exchange with PEP.ph, Gaza said that his post in Facebook is true but he still has 15 days to file a motion regarding the court’s decision.

Gaza, president and CEO of Hongkong-based Guanxiqian Group, made rounds on social media last year when he asked actress Erich Gonzales to go on a date with him by putting up a huge billboard in Morayta, Manila.
