Miss USA 2014 Nia Sachez responded to a netizen who compared Filipina Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray.
Wurtzbach won the Miss Universe competition in 2015, while Gray is the current titleholder.
It all started when an Instagram user said that Gray is more eloquent and is better at doing interviews compared to Wurtzbach.
Gray is currently on her media tour as Miss Universe and she recently appeared on the US morning talk show “Good Morning America” wherein she talked about her experiences in pageantry and her advocacy.
The netizen then compared Gray’s interview with Wurtzbach’s interview on the same show when she won Miss Universe three years ago.
“Catriona’s interview is thousand times better than Pia. Pia’s answers during her media week was like watching a replay because all her answers were the same word per word,” the netizen said.
Sanchez then replied to the netizen by saying, “I don’t believe there is any need for comparison. Come on, let’s leave that in 2018. They are both amazing. Period. No need for any more than that.”
There were some netizens who replied and bashed Sanchez for posting such comment saying that she only wants to gain Filipino followers.
However, many of them still expressed their love and support for the American beauty queen.
Sanchez is no stranger to the Miss Universe pageant. She finished as a first runner up when she competed in the said pageant back in 2014. Colombia’s Paulina Vega bagged the crown and title, while the Philippines’ bet during that time, Mary Jean Lastimosa, finished in the Top 10.
