A few hours remain before Miss Universe 2018 begins and fans all over the world are already on their feet as most awaited beauty pageant of the year is about to commence!

Various beauty pageant experts have begun placing their bets – and this time, we spoke to some of the UAE’s top Filipino fashion designers to get a feel of who they think will make it to the top.
Michael Cinco
The internationally known fashion designer and recipient of the 2015 TFT Rizal Award and 2015 TFT Fashion Designer of the Year dressed up Marta Magdalena Stepien, Miss Universe Canada 2018 for her evening gown entry during the Miss Universe Preliminary competition.
Rumor has it that Canada will also wear another gown from Cinco’s most recent “Impalpable Dream of Persia” collection.
Cinco’s Predictions:
Philippines, Canada, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and South Africa.
Harvey Cenit
The 2016 TFT Most Promising Fashion Designer of the Year dressed no less than Miss Universe 2018 PH bet Catriona Gray herself. Gray was seen wearing one of Cenit’s elegant gowns in an Instagram post which Cenit said would bring out Catriona’s inner ‘showgirl’ while maintaining her aura of elegance.
Cenit’s Predictions and Comments:
10- Thailand – It’s the homecourt of Miss Universe this year.
9-Venezuela – She’s not the typical Venezuelan blonde rep; black hair and tanned skin ang pinadala nila ngayon.
8-Indonesia – She’s very pretty! Looks sweet.
7-Mexico – She’s like a doll!
6-Spain – Being the first transgender candidate of miss universe is quite interesting. Especially since sa Thailand pa gaganapin yung Miss Universe; where transgenders are accepted with open arms!
5- Vietnam – She looks fierce.
4-South Africa – She’s perfect. But I’m afraid she might be too perfect.
3-Canada – She’s a goddess!
2-Puerto Rico – I feel like she’s the dark horse for this year.
1-Philippines – Our bet is a total package!
Aldwin Jlo Ornopia
The recipient of the 2017 TFT Fashion Designer of the Year has had the privilege of dressing up Filipino beauty queens like Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, Megan Young, Venus Raj , Miss World Philippines Queenie Rehman, and countless others.
