Kapuso A-list couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes received recognitions from the Kapisanan ng mga Kamag-anak at Migranteng Manggagawang Pilipino, Inc. (KAKAMMPI) during its 8th Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Gawad Parangal held on Sunday in Pasay City.
Rivera received the Best Actress Award for her role in an episode of the OFW-themed drama anthology series “Tadhana” titled “Milya-milyang Agwat ng Mag-ina”.
The said episode was directed by her husband Dingdong Dantes.
Rivera thanked the OFW award-giving body through an Instagram post with the caption: “Maraming salamat po sa OFW Gawad Parangal ng KAKAMMPI (Kapisanan ng mga Kamag-anak at Migranteng Manggagawang Pilipino, Inc.) para sa pagkilalang iginawad nyo sa akin bilang Best Actress sa Milya-milyang Agwat ng Mag-ina episode ng Tadhana.”
She added that the award is more significant for her since it recognized her collaborative work with Dantes.
“Special sa akin ang episode na ito dahil muli kami nagkasama sa trabaho ng asawa ko bilang aking director,” she said.
Rivera also left a message for Dantes which reads: “Salamat sa ‘yo Mahal ko, sa suporta, pag-aalaga at pag guide mo sa akin para maibigay ko ang tamang pagganap. Personal man o sa trabaho, you always bring out the best in me. Naks! At lalo pang naging special dahil sa nabigyan ako ng parangal.”
Aside from her Best Actress Awards, the mentioned OFW-themed drama anthology series which is also hosted by Rivera won and was named as OFW’s Choice Awardee for the Best OFW Stories Program.
Rivera was also ecstatic when she received the Best Documentary Host award on behalf of husband Dantes for GMA’s informative show “Amazing Earth.”
