Singer Jake Zyrus made some shocking revelations on his book “I Am Jake” about the abuse he has experienced from his mother Raquel Pempengco.
In the second chapter titled “Mommy Dearest”, Zyrus started off by saying that he “doesn’t know his mother”, and elaborated on the kind of maltreatment he has experienced from her ever since he was a kid, reported PEP.ph.
The singer also said that her maternal grandmother, Tess Relucio, also had some violent tendencies and would often beat up her four children even in front of them.
Zyrus went on to say that when they decided to move out of her grandmother’s house and live on their own, Pempengco started to beat him up using shoes, belts, and broom.
Aside from hurting him physically, Zyrus said that his mother would also emotionally torment him, especially when he revealed his true sexual orientation.
He said that Pempengco would create fake accounts on social media to send him hate comments and messages.
There were also parts in the said chapter of the book where Zyrus called his mother his “evil queen”, “secret antagonist”, and other nicknames.
HIS MOTHER’S RESPONSE
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, Pempengco aired her side to her daughter’s claims.
She even said that her “evilness” have helped Zyrus with his career.
Kahit ilang libo pang libro ang ikalat niya,” she said.
