Star Cinema reveals status of Richard-Angel ‘reunion’ movie

The upcoming reunion movie of former reel partners Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez has been reportedly put on hold, to the disappointment of ChardGel fans.

It was Gutierrez himself who disclosed the news during his contract signing with ABS-CBN.

“I think we should ask someone from Star Cinema to answer [if it has been shelved]. But me, I am just looking forward to any project or movies na I’ll be doing with Star Cinema. But for now, I think it’s put on hold. I think pinapaganda lang ‘yung script,” he said.

He added that he is still looking forward to doing more projects with Star Cinema, reported ABS-CBN.

“My mom decided to collaborate with Star Magic. Obviously it is the premiere talent management in the country. I’ve always wanted to work with them. They were able to make stars. They know what they are doing. I trust them,” he said.

“My mom din kinda wants to slow down, retire na and enjoy life and enjoy her grandkids. Ayaw na niya masyado magpa-pressure in managing,” he added.

It was some time last year when Star Cinema first announced that Locsin and Gutierrez will team up again in the big screen.

The title of the film, which was slated to be directed by Nuel Naval, has not been revealed.

After reports of their reunion movie made rounds, Locsin posted photos of them on Instagram with the caption: “After 10 years… Hello from ChardGel!”

Angelica Panganiban was also supposed to join them in the said movie. However, succeeding reports stated that Panganiban has been pulled out from the project.

Locsin and Gutierrez used to worked in several successful films like “The Promise,” “Let the love begin,” “Mano po 6: Gua Ai Di,” and “Mulawin: The Movie” and in series such as “Click” and “Mulawin” under the GMA Network.

They recently worked together for ABS-CBN’s fantasy TV series “La Luna Sangre”, which starred Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
