Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)’s online system enabling employers to issue a No-Objectification-Certificate (NOC) to employees getting a driving license is the latest in the emirate’s initiative of going paperless by 2021.
“The system saves the time of the applicant… saving the hassles of preparing and endorsing letters and enhancing the governance of transactions,” Gulf News quoted Jamal Assada, Director of Drivers Licensing at RTA’s Licensing Agency, as saying.
NOCs can now be issued in less than three minutes. Employers must sign-up on https://www.rta.ae and open an account.
Under the new rules, the first driving license issued for drivers aged 21 will be valid for only two years, while renewed licenses will be valid for ten years for citizens and Gulf nationals and five years for other nationalities.
