With its “love locks” tradition, where couples seal brass padlocks on the bridges as a symbol of their unwavering love for each other, Paris had long been known as a romantic getaway for partners.

Sadly, the French capital kissed goodbye to this tradition in 2013 after a portion of the Pont des Arts Bridge collapsed under the weight of millions of padlocks.

But as far as the Redemptorist Church, aka Baclaran Church, is concerned, it’s not yet the end of this lovely affair. The priests of the church encourage couples to leave a love lock and throw the key (or keep it as well) as a symbol of their undying love.

No need to bring your own padlocks as many are sold in different sizes and colors outside the church.
