Liza Soberano’s manager Ogie Diaz denied rumors that the actress will be paired with top-billed teen actor Daniel Padilla in the upcoming Darna movie.
In a Facebook post, Diaz posted the link of the news that the two artists will temporarily say goodbye to their respective loveteams to pair up for the much-awaited Darna movie.
“Not true po,” Diaz said.
The rumors became the talk of the town when a tabloid newspaper reported that a source familiar to the subjects said Padilla was pegged to play the role of Narda’s love interest, which was previously portrayed by Dennis Trillo and Mark Anthony Fernandez.
Padilla and Soberano had worked together in a Star Cinema movie, titled “Must Be Love” in 2013, together with Kathryn Bernando.
Star Cinema and Erik Matti, the movie’s director, is yet to announce who will portray other iconic roles such as Ding, Narda’s younger brother, and Valentina, the story’s main villain.
Anne Curtis was reportedly pressed to play the role of the half-human and half-serpent character, but the actress has already downplayed the rumor.
“As far as I know, hindi.”
Liza has started to prepare for her role by going to gym to build her stamina. The management is also yet to announce release date of the movie.
