UAE opens hotline to aid Emirati-Qatari families

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has announced a hotline that Emirati-Qatari families in the country can call if they need support after the emirate imposed sanctions on Qatar for its alleged support of terrorist groups.

The hotline is the MOI’s number in Aman: +9718002626. Affected families can call the number for humanitarian assistance/

Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, which also cut diplomatic relations with Qatar and closed its border with the neighboring Gulf state, are also providing a similar assistance for Saudi-Qatari and Bahraini-Qatari families.

Aside from the hotline, Qatari citizens who are first-degree relatives of UAE nationals are also allowed to transit in UAE airports and borders, which have been ordered not to allow Qatari nationals to pass through as sanction against Qatar.

Earlier, the UAE government ordered all Qatari nationals to leave the emirate. Qatari nationals were stranded in the UAE after airlines refused to let them board flights to their country.

Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE stopped flights and shipping to and from Qatar on June 5.
