Film director Paul Soriano has been tapped to direct the first State Of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Bongbong Marcos on July 25.
“I am grateful and honored for this rare opportunity. Anytime the President needs me, I will deliver and do my best,” Soriano said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
The film director said that the event will be simple so that people can listen to his message.

“It will be simple and traditional and will focus on his message,” he said. Soriano said that the Marcos is hands-on inc crafting his message.
“He is hands-on in the crafting of his speech which will be concise, clear and direct to the point. The real challenge is for the public to hear him well. After all, this is a two-way process where listening skills is important to hear his message,” Soriano added.
An estimated 1,300 guests are expected to attend the face-to-face SONA of Marcos at the Batasang Pambansa.

Before Soriano, directors Joyce Bernal and Brillante Mendoza were some of the directors tapped to during the term of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
“If there’s a need for me to help, I will be there in whatever capacity. I’ve been supporting him from the start and I will continue to do that. He can count on us,” Soriano said.
