Expo 2020 Dubai is just around the corner, and Filipinos based in Dubai are now hyping up the official participation of the Philippines at its own pavilion – the ‘Bangkota’ through an original song!
Titled ‘Tara Na!’, the song invites OFWs in the UAE and Filipinos around the world to visit and immerse themselves in the retelling of the Filipino diaspora that spans 4,000 years in an upbeat pop song.
‘Tara Na!’ was launched on Monday, September 20, during the 3rd wave of the Bangkóta Campaign initiated by the Philippine Business Council for Dubai and Northern Emirates (PBC-DNE) and the United Architects of the Philippines Dubai Chapter (UAP-Dubai Chapter), in the presence of the Department of Trade and Industry and Alternate Commissioner-General of Philippines Expo 2020 Dubai Asec. Rosvi Gaetos; Philippine Commercial Attaché to the Middle East and Africa Charmaine Mingon Yalong; Philippine Consul General to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, His Excellency ConGen Paul Raymund Cortes; and Architect Royal Piñeda, of Budji+Royal Architecture+Design who won the national bid for the architectural design of the ‘Bangkota’.
ConGen Cortes lent his voice to bring the original song life, together with singer Sharina Manaog.
Manaog penned the lyrics together with PBC-DNE Chairperson Bobbie Carella and UAP-Dubai Chapter President Christian Vasquez. The tunes and music were mixed by David Edulzera and were arranged by Eizekel.
Performers at the ‘Tara Na!’ music video include Ian D La Peña III, Chokie Echosera, Brian Bryle de Gracia, and The Melrish Studio Crew.
