An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is the first case of the Delta variant in Dagupan City in Pangasinan.
The Dagupan City Public Information Office said the 35-year-old OFW first tested positive for COVID-19 on July 31 in Manila. The OFW then tested positive again in Dagupan City on August 12 before leaving the isolation facility on August 18.

“The patient was allowed to go home as it was not considered infectious anymore since 10 days have lapsed after the first result came out,” the PIO said.
The PIO said the OFW is asymptomatic and will have a repeat reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test (RT-PCR), along with immediate family members, on August 30.

Currently, Dagupan City has 487 active COVID-19 cases while 2,144 have recovered out of the total 2,731 infected. (NM)
