The COVID-19 vaccination card should be enough proof for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) arriving from “low-risk” countries returning to the country to prove that they are fully vaccinated, according to Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon.
Senator Gordon cited that other additional requirements set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) for incoming Filipinos make it harder for fully vaccinated OFWs from low-risk countries to head home.

Gordon questioned the need to go through two more agencies with the government already burdened by too many records and processes of COVID-19.
He quoted Guideline Number 3 from Resolution No. 123-C series of 2021, which states that fully vaccinated individuals shall carry the card as proof of their vaccination status.

Earlier, Gordon sent a letter on June 14 to IATF Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. urging ease of protocols for fully-vaccinated overseas returning Filipinos. The IATF then issued a shorter seven-day quarantine starting July 1, 2021 for incoming OFWs from countries classified as low risk by the Department of Health (DOH). (AW)
