Abu Dhabi has officially opened the portal for volunteers who wish to take part in the recently-launched Phase III vaccine trials for Russia’s ‘Sputnik V’ in the capital.
Volunteers can head to the website: www.v4v.ae which stands for the campaign: ‘Vaccine for Victory’. Sputnik V, the human adenovirus vector-based vaccine, was registered by the Russian Ministry of Health on 11th August 2020 and became the first registered COVID-19 vaccine out of 165 vaccines being developed across the world.

Those who wish to take part in the program should fulfill all of the following requirements, to name a few:
– Be at least 18 years of age;
– Should not have suffered from any communicable or respiratory diseases in the past 14 days
– Have not previously been infected with COVID-19
– Have not participated in any other COVID-19 vaccination trial

Residents and citizens who wish to participate are required to answer a form on the website that would check their medical backgrounds.
All volunteers will get two doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, administered 20 days apart. They will be regularly monitored through in-person visits and teleconsultations.
