The Manila International Airport Authority has put all departure and arrival flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on hold due to the Taal Volcano explosion last January 12.
“Due to the eruption of the Taal Volcano, all flights, both arrival and departures are now on hold. Passengers are advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for flight updates,” the MIAA said in a tweet.
Evacuations are underway in three towns in Batangas after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology raised the Taal Volcano to Alert Level 3 due to a stronger explosion at around 2 PM.
Alert Level 3 means that there is magmatic unrest in the volcano, implying a movement in the magma.
