The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has revealed that more than one billion passengers availed of their taxi service in the last 25 years.
The RTA said a total of 682 million journeys were recorded by the service since its inception in 1995; the running total was till December 2019.
The RTA added that the taxi fleet recorded growth in numbers from 80 to 5,201 vehicles according to a report from the Khaleej Times.
The number of taxi drivers also increased from 886 to 11,500 drivers.
Transportation authorities also reported that artificial intelligence also helps in improving the taxi services.
AI is also being used to improve safe driving practices through monitoring the conduct of drivers and verifying their compliance with safe driving standards. (TN)
