Singer Jimmy Bondoc took to social media anew to share his reaction on the issue of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
Bondoc expressed dismay on the broadcast giant’s alleged misinformation in the SEA Games mishaps. He was referring to the ‘the kikiam’ incident.
Part of his statement on Facebook (as is) says, “We all saw during the SEA Games demolition job, even good reporters were manipulated by their bosses.”
“This is clearly why PDuterte wants this station closed. They are ungrateful recipients of a government grant of a privilege,” Bondoc claimed. “A franchise is a privilege.”
“So come March 2020, mukang mawawala talaga ang giant network. And I can honestly say I am not in a state of schadenfreude. Not at all,” the singer-turned-government official added.
His statement came following President Rodrigo Duterte’s latest pronouncements that television giant should not expect their franchise to be renewed. The television network’s franchise is set to expire by March 2020.
“If you are expecting na ma-renew ‘yan, I am sorry. I will see to it that you are out,” Duterte said while his speech was aired live over the Facebook page of the Presidential Communication Operations Office (PCOO).
