Internationally-renowned, Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco impressed the world once again with his reveal of his ‘Swan Lake’ collection during the 50th Anniversary of Ballet Philippines held September 29 at the Marriott Hotel in Manila.
The 2015 TFT Rizal Awardee and TFT Fashion Designer of the Year shares that seeing his creations on the stage was a fulfillment of his dream. “The breathtaking show last night was an Impalpable Dream come true for me,” shares Cinco in his Facebook post.
In an interview with The Filipino Times, Cinco shared that his inspiration comes from popular folk story that he watched in New York. “I was inspired by the beautiful story of the Russian folktale that was produced as the ballet production Swan Lake,” said Cinco.
He also shares that he used his signature of putting intricate details on several dresses and gowns, along with laces and crystals for the beautiful collection: “I made a lot of short dresses with intricate details adorned with feathers and crystals, I used a lot of tulle lace and ombré crystals in bias skirts.”
