Filipino dancer finalist on US TV dance competition

Dubbed as Filipino-American Bruno Mars’ “little brother”, this Filipino professional breakdancer is breaking ground as one of the seven dancers still in the running to become “America’s favorite dancer”.

Mark Villaver, 27, performed a sizzling Broadway performance with all-star dancer Comfort Fedoke in the recent episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 on Monday night.

SYTYCD judge and fellow Filipino-American Vanessa Hudgens can’t help but gush over Villaver’s performance, ““Mark, you hold the key to a lot of young ladies’ hearts here tonight. You were absolutely terrific in that routine. The jazz feel to it was absolutely terrific.”

Villaver was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Filipina Emilia Villaver-Paquiog. His mother became an online sensation in 2014 for perfectly dancing on beat to Usher’s “She came to give it to you”, despite being completely deaf.
