Several individuals, who were caught on video attending a private party in Dubai, were slapped with a hefty fine worth AED 50,000 for violating the health and safety protocols in the emirate.
In a video clip shared by Dubai Media Office on social media, several people onboard a commercial yacht were seated in groups in what seemed like a private party.
All of them were not following the social distancing rules and not wearing masks.
Dubai Police, in cooperation with Dubai Tourism, issued them with fines including the revocation of the yacht operator’s license for one month.
According to the latest COVID-19 safety measures released by the Dubai government, only first-degree relatives can attend weddings, social events, and private parties.
There is also a limit to the maximum number of guests allowed, which has been capped at 10. This directive is applicable for events at homes and hotels.
