UAE to process residency visa faster thanks to new initiative

Expatriates and employees in the UAE have a new reason to rejoice as the government here announced commitment to reduce the processing time needed to secure residency permits for private sector employees by 50 percent.

The Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Health and Prevention, and Human Resources and Emiratization, as well as the Emirates Identity Authority are looking to allow private sector employees to obtain residency permit faster, WAM reported.

The move is part of the efforts of government accelerators to boost the achievements of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021.

Dr. Hussain Al Rand, assistant undersecretary for Health Centers and Clinics at the Ministry of Health, said the ministry partnered with different organizations to streamline the process of issuing residency permits.

“The MoH is committed to cooperating with other government stakeholders to deliver the objectives of the government accelerators regarding the residency permit for private sector staff in 100 days,” WAM quoted Al Rand as saying.

His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the government accelerators to closely monitor the of projects under the National Agenda.
