The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has reported that heavy rainfall is experienced in some parts of the country including Dubai, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah. Authorities in various emirates have issued alerts to motorists to drive safely and follow safety measures as the country is experiencing unstable weather conditions.

In a series of Twitter posts, the NCM reported heavy rains in Hatta (Dubai), Al Fouah (Al Ain), and Al Muniai (Ras Al Khaimah). Moderate to heavy rains were reported in Al Hiyar (Al Ain). While in Al Ain – Dubai Road, Khatt (Ras Al Khaimah), and Al Halah, Wadi Abadilah, Dibba (Fujairah), moderate rains were reported.

Light to moderate rains were also experienced in Al Ajban (Abu Dhabi), Al Qurayyah (Fujairah), and Al Digdaga and Al Hamraniyah (Ras Al Khaimah). Meanwhile, light rains were reported in Kalba (Sharjah), Nahil (Al Ain), and Al Bidyah (Fujairah).

Cloud-seeding hashtags were seen in the department’s Twitter posts, which indicates that the authorities have used the technique to boost rainfall in the country.

Storm Centre, a weather monitoring social media account in the UAE, has shared some videos of heavy rains in several parts of the country.

The NCM has issued a reminder of the safety guidelines while driving, encouraging motorists to follow weather forecasts via official channels and comply with directions issued by relevant authorities.
