The much-anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai is taking a step back due the ongoing threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a video released on its social media pages, the organizers reminded the public how the UAE tirelessly worked to win the bidding for the hosting of the Expo.
It has also acknowledged the builder of its world-class facilities, the students and the volunteers who worked hard in preparing the grand event.
“As we worked towards October 2020, something happened to our world, so our journey must take a different turn and adjust the opening dates for Expo 2020 Dubai,” Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General–the voice behind the video–said.
The organizers also encourage everyone to spend more time with their loved ones as the entire nation and the whole world battle with the COVID-19 pandemic.
