Former senator Bongbong Marcos was diagnosed with coronavirus disease (COVID-19), his spokesperson Atty. Victor Rodriguez confirmed Monday.

Marcos received his test results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) last March 28.

Rodriguez said the former solon’s condition is currently improving while receiving treatment at an isolation area.

Rodriguez said Marcos immediately went to a hospital to check his condition as he suffers chest pain upon his return from Europe last March 14.

Marcos went back to the same hospital on March 22 and was tested for COVID-19.

Last week rumors appeared on social media that Marcos has coronavirus and that he was intubated in a hospital in Taguig.

Senator Imee Marcos said his brother was unwell and got tested for COVID-19 after returning from Spain.

Imee Marcos added that the 62-year-old politician is staying at his home and he has never left home yet.
