Spain’s death toll due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19)has surged to 831 while the confirmed cases increased by 25% or 18,077 cases, health officials said Thursday.
The Spanish government ordered the closure of all hotels across the country and vowed to implement special measures to nursing homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health officials recorded 3,308 confirmed cases and 831 fatalities, making Spain as the second most affected country in Europe, RTVE reported.
Madrid Community president Isabel Díaz Ayuso bared that 8 out of 10 people in the Capital will contract the virus.
“This virus has been on Spain for a longer time and is going to spread to practically everyone, and in most, it will not leave lasting marks. But the problem is the vulnerable population,” she said.
