The number of cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has passed 200,000 on Wednesday, March 18, according to Johns Hopkins University (JHU) global dashboard.
The figures doubled in a span of two weeks, which soared to 100,000 on March 6 according to World Health Organization.

There are 204,047 cases of coronavirus cases globally, with 8,250 fatalities as of this posting.
Meanwhile, the total number of recovered patients now stands at 82,866, according to JHU.

China remains on top of the list of most affected countries with 80,894 confirmed cases and 3,237 deaths.
Italy, the country with the highest number of confirmed cases outside China, recorded 31,506 cases and 2.503 fatalities.
Iran, who reported its single biggest jump in deaths due to COVID-19, came third with 17,361 cases with 1,135 deaths, followed by Spain with 13,716 cases and 616 deaths.
