Entire Italy now in total lockdown to stop COVID-19 spread

Italy has expanded its lockdown to the entire country as it continues to grapple with the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced the lockdown in a media briefing on Monday.
“All the measure of the red zones are now extended to all of the national territory,” Conte said.
The Italian government said that the move is necessary in order to protect the population, and especially the most fragile individuals.
There are over 9,700 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, the highest in the entire Europe. Some 463 deaths were recorded.
