Taal Volcano emits smoke, Alert Level 2 remains

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs) confirmed that Taal Volcano emitted steam or smoke on Wednesday evening.
Phivolcs said that the smoke was from 200 meters to 300 meters high. This is classified as moderate was observed.
No ash or lava was emitted from Taal according to state volcanologists. Alert Level 2 remains in effect.
At least 34 volcanic quakes were recorded in Taal. The earthquakes were due to rock-fracturing processes beneath and around the edifice.
“The Taal Volcano Network recorded thirty-four (34) volcanic earthquakes that are associated with rock fracturing processes beneath and around the edifice,” Phivolcs said in its latest advisory.
