A number of private schools in Manila City and Quezon City have decided to suspend classes amid the Wuhan coronavirus threat from China.
Chinese schools like Hope Christian School, St. Stephen’s High School and Uno High School have suspended classes indefinitely.
School officials said that they are still gathering more information on travel details of their students and staff during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that no confirmed case yet of the novel coronavirus in the country.
Duque added that class suspensions are not yet in the DOH guidelines in dealing with the deadly virus.
“Definitely no need as of now,” Duque told CNN Philippines.

Philippine Cultural College
Tiong Se Academy
Saint Jude Catholic School
Lorenzo Ruiz Academy
Philippine Academy of Sakya
Pace Academy
11 people are now under investigation for suspected coronavirus cases.
