A pilot of a commercial plane managed to capture photos of Taal volcano’s erruption on Sunday afternoon.
In an interview with The Filipino Times, the pilot said the photos were taken when they were 25,000 feet in the air when the explosion was happening.
Evacuations are underway in three towns in Batangas after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology raised the Alert Level 3 due to a stronger explosion at around 2PM, Sunday.
Alert Level 3 means that there is magmatic unrest in the volcano, implying a movement in the magma.
Classes have since been suspended in Manila and Cavite, with departure and arrival flights put on hold at NAIA.
