Most of the crops in a local town in Benguet was suddenly covered with frost due to the drop of temperature.
ABS-CBN News reported that the crops became cold and icy for almost three consecutive days since the temperature in the town of Atok, Benguet dropped to as low as 5 degrees Celsius. The farmers assured the public that the incident won’t affect the supply or cause the price of their vegetables to shoot up.
Frost is a thin layer of ice on a solid surface, which forms from water vapor in an above freezing atmosphere coming in contact with a solid surface whose temperature is below freezing.
Frost is a yearly occurrence especially in the cold months of December to February in some parts of Atok in Benguet.
