Malacañang Palace assurances the public that they will aid those areas hit by typhoon Urusla.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that the government would speed up its aid and rehabilitation efforts to ensure the safety of typhoon victims.
“As we have repeatedly said during this time of calamities, all the agencies involved in the rehabilitation, in helping, assisting are all in place,” Panelo said.
He told that he wasn’t sure if the President would come to those places hit by the typhoon.
There were at least 16 confirmed dead while thousands of people spent their Christmas Eve in evacuation centers at the time Ursula hit the Eastern Visayas.
Meanwhile, in a report by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) released on Dec 26, 569 families or 2,351 individuals in 38 local villages in Central Visayas and Caraga were affected by the fury of the typhoon while 425 families or 1,645 people were in 31 evacuation centers.
“Ursula” is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday morning.
