Operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) today seized some P801.6 million worth of crystal meth or shabu from a Chinese national during drug operations in Quezon City.
PDEA nabbed Yunquan Zhang, 30, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Siena.
PDEA agents raided Zhang’s townhouse after buying two kilos of shabu worth Php13.6 million from him.
The agents found 116 kilograms of shabu worth around Php788 million hidden in tea bags and biscuit cans during their follow-up operation.
Lorenzo Advincula Jr., PDEA Intelligence Officer 3, told GMA News that the suspect, alias “Francis” has been under surveillance for a month prior to the operation.
Zhang faces charges for possession and selling of illegal drugs under the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
