Man stabbed to death inside car in Dubai

The Dubai Court of First Instance is now hearing the case of an Emirati man who was accused of killing and stabbing a man inside a car.

The 37-year-old suspect allegedly killed the victim by stabbing him into his heart after a heated argument last August in Al Qusais, reported Gulf News.

Court records showed that the victim went to his friend and to the defendant’s house and saw the suspect sitting in a black car.

The car, however, belongs to his friend and only allowed the suspect to borrow it for a short time. The suspect hasn’t returned the car for several days so the victim informed his friend about it.

“The defendant started yelling at the victim because he had alerted the owner about the whereabouts of his car. The defendant then picked up a knife, sat beside the victim inside the car and then stabbed him before fleeing the scene with his friend,” a witness told the court.

The witness also added that the suspect might have been under the influence of illegal drugs when the crime took place.

During the hearing, the suspect said it was the victim who attacked him with a knife and only defended himself.

Dubai Police charged the man with assault leading to death. The case has been adjourned until December 26.
