DUBAI: Giving back to the Filipino community, UAE Exchange, which won as the “Preferred Remittance Center of the Year” at the just concluded fifth edition of The Filipino Times Awards, has rolled out a Christmas promo exclusive for Filipinos ahead of the much-anticipated event.
Abdel Kareem Alkayed, UAE Exchange country head, said one overseas Filipino worker (OFWs) stands to win at a daily draw giving away a free Dubai-Manila-Dubai roundtrip ticket.
Likewise, he said, one more Filipino stand to take home Php1 million in two separate draws happening this month and in early January 2020. The first Filipino to win, Ian John Omila, 33 of Davao, got his milliion tht evening of Dec. 5. Second draw will be first week of January 2020.
“For us the Filipino community is a very large one. It’s our third now (winning the award,” said Alkayed.
“Currently, we are running a Christmas promo for the Filipino community which will be ending on Dec. 31 this year,” he said.
The promo is within all UAE Exchange branches and is exclusive for Filipinos. They just need to send money to the Philippines through UAE Exchange or online.
The promo was launched on Nov. 17.
Alkayed said UAE Exchange has been around for the past 39 years and has noted that the Filipino community is the third biggest remittance exchange corridor.
He explained: “We all know Filipinos are very emotionally attached to their loved ones back in the Philippines. Filipinos remit a lot to their loved ones. We noticed that Filipinos do not remit once or twice a year; they remit regularly. They always send money back home to their family for their children’s education, among others.”
He said Filipinos also comprise 20% of UAE Exchange’s total number of employees.
