A man working as a disc jockey in London rode a taxi to get him home but fell asleep during the ride — and this cost him £1,450 or some Dh6,800 much to his disbelief. The passenger identified as Chris Reed said he was brought to Sleaford, Lincolnshire which was a hundred miles away from his destination which is Croydon in south London.
Reed admitted that he has been drinking that night and didn’t realized he was being driven to a different direction.
The passenger demanded refund from the taxi company but was denied.
He took on to social media to warn passengers about the so-called scam.
“‘Spent this week trying to get answers as to how my driver managed to drive me halfway up the UK while I dozed off thinking I was headed from Fulham to Croydon. Didn’t hear a peep from my driver. £1453.86. 5 ½ hrs on surge price x2” he said in a tweet. (TN)
