An American restaurant in Jumeirah has been closed following reports of food poisoning of at least 15 people including a child.
Health inspectors cited that the use of raw eggs for the sauce of one of the breakfast dishes caused the poison.
The first case of food poisoning was initially reported on September 14, where at least 15 people got ill after dining in the said restaurant, as per a report from Khaleej Times.
Raw eggs can cause salmonella infection that can affect a person’s intestine and develop diseases including diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever within 72 hours after the food consumption.
Proper cooking of the food can kill salmonella.
