A court in Abu Dhabi fined a man Dh100,000 and ordered his deportation from the country after he was found guilty of hacking a woman’s SnapChat account and stealing private pictures for blackmail.
The unnamed woman reported the man to the police after he asked her to date him or he will publish her photographs online.
A court of first instance fined the man Dh100,000, ordered his deportation and confiscated his mobile phone.
He appealed the sentence but it was rejected, prompting him to resort to the court of cassation, which upheld that verdict.
