He said the group was supposed to go on a vacation trip to Boracay Island when it happened. But he wasn’t able to come with them on the said trip.

Based on their group photo that was shared, there were seven of them who was on that trip. Others survived in the ill-fated motor bancas, but three of them died.

Confirmed fatalities that were identified by Philippine authorities in a list released on Sunday were Andrew Valenzuela, Eden Peralez, and Jaquelyn Alferez.

Among their friends who survived are Mark Angelo Subaldo and Jenette Montemayor, who are both recuperating in different hospitals.

“I still praise you Lord even in the most difficult situation. Thank you for protecting my workmates in Ittihad School who survived. Praying for comfort and God’s love for the family of my 3 co-teachers who died in the recent sea accident in Ilo-Ilo,” said Vizconde in a Facebook post.

“Wala talagang nakaka alam kung hanggang kelan ang buhay ng tao tanging ang Diyos lamang. Let us not lose heart but take this opportunity to know Jesus Christ more in our lives. Salamat po sa mga nagmessage at nangamusta, maayos po kami ni Alex at Gela hindi kami nakasama sa trip sa Boracay,” he added.
