Influx of Chinese tourists in PH a security threat

National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon has expressed his concern over the influx of Chinese tourists and workers in the country.

In a press briefing, Esperon called the increasing number of Chinese national a security risk.

“As the National Security Adviser, I have the tendency to look at it as a threat. I’m on the cautious side. When foreigners, regardless of nationality, come in, and their intent is not clear. Or when some of them are undocumented, or have false documentation,” Esperon said.

Esperon said that he will look into agencies concerned on the entry of Chinese nationals.

The National Security Adviser added that while tourism boom is an added economic gain the country, we should however do not let our guard down.
