A big cichlid fish (tilapia) was caught in an estuary in Manila.
A personnel of the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) was surprised when he caught a giant tilapia from Manila’s Estero de San Miguel.
The tilapia weighed 3 kilos and measured 20.5 inches.
The PRRC said that this is a sign of positive change in Manila’s polluted rivers.
The Pasig River is notorious for being very polluted. In the 1990s, it was even declared biologically dead.
