P4 million worth of marijuana plants uprooted by PDEA in Cebu

At least P4.4 million worth of marijuana were uprooted in a far-flung area in the town of Balamban, Cebu on Wednesday June 26.

The Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7), together with PNP and AFP, raided an area in Barangay Gaas, Balamban where they uprooted fully grown marijuana plants.

An official from PDEA-7 said that the plantation was so big that it reaches to the neighboring city of Toledo.

The operating team uprooted approximately 11,000 fully grown marijuana plants, with an estimated market value of P4.4 million.

Three cultivators eluded arrest when they sensed the team approaching the uphill terrain.
