A charred body of a male individual was discovered in a vacant lot in Pulo, Barangay Salawag, Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Thursday, police reported.
Lt. Col. Nerwin Ricohermoso, chief of Dasmariñas City Police, said that the suspects used a car tire to roast the victim’s body beyond recognition.
Rochohermoso said that they are now investigating if the remains belong to Allan Fajardo, the former aide of slain Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili.
“But initial assessment by Fajardo’s relatives showed that it may not be him,” the police chief said, noting that the body found near the border of San Pedro City, Laguna was at least 5’8” to 5’9” while Fajardo was only 5’2”.
Fajardo and his bodyguard were reportedly abducted on Wednesday in a hotel in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the abduction.
