Foreigner nabbed at NAIA for using fake passport

An African woman, who disguised herself as a Guatemalan national, was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for attempting to leave the country using a fake passport.

Bureau of Immigration (BI) Port Operations chief Grifton Medina, in a report to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, said that the foreigner, identified as Desiree Dalila Sanchez, was about to board a flight to Frankfurt, Germany when her passport was discovered to be fake, reported Tempo.

“The officer inspecting her documents noticed irregularities on her passport and our forensic document examiners were able to confirm that the passport was fake,” Medina said.

During investigation, it was revealed that the woman used a fake Guatemalan passport and altered her biographical location.

The foreigner initially denied that the passport is fake but later on admitted that she hailed from the African country of Cameroon.

The foreigner is currently  detained at BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City for violating the country’s immigration policies.
